Step 1 - Licensing

As you are browsing vehicles and lots, you may come across items that require specific licenses in order to buy. Licenses you may not have. When you try to bid on a vehicle and don't have adequate licenses on file with Copart. I, as a Broker, will buy vehicles on your behalf. You can still purchase the lots you want, even without the appropriate documentation.

Step 2 - Start Your Search Today!

Go to Copart.com and find your desired vehicle by searching for year, make, model, and location. The closer the better. You can also find RV’s, motorcycles, boats, heavy equipment and more! Narrow down your search by using a zip code or a nearby city. The best cities to buy in my opinion are Van Nuys, Sun Valley, and Rancho Cucamonga. Once a vehicle is found, I always recommend to inspect in person to know the exact condition. To learn more read the Inspections section.

Step 3 - What are the fees to buy a vehicle?

Transaction Fee is $300.00 per vehicle or 4% of your winning bid amount, whichever is greater, which includes title processing and administration. The auction fees are dependent on the bid amount. Fees Chart Below, Gate Fee $79.00, $10.00 Hazardous Fee, and Online Live Bid apply. If you are located in California; 10%  tax will be added to the grand total. If you are out of state, tax will be refunded once vehicle is in delivered. 

Step 4 - Submit the Deposit!

In order to bid for you, I require a 10% security deposit of your max bid by credit card or bank wire (International). The minimum amount is 600.00. This is a security deposit and does not go towards the purchase price of the vehicle if you win. However, it will be used to pay for a Relist Fee if you do not follow through with payment. This deposit is refunded once you have paid for and picked up your vehicle. The deposit is also refunded if we lose or the seller does not approve our high bid. Based upon your bid deposit, that will determine your maximum to bid at auction.

Late Payment

The vehicle amount and all applicable fees must be paid within 3 business days of purchase, including the day of sale, to avoid a fee of $50.00 per vehicle.

Storage rates may vary by location and can be found on the Locations pages.

Vehicle Relist Fee

If the lot is not paid in full within 5 calendar days (including the day of sale), the vehicle will be relisted. The Relist Fee will be 10% of the final sale price with a minimum of $600.

If you have a deposit on file, the relist fee will be taken out of your existing deposit.
